Israeli Occupation of Palestine must end

Earlier this year, millions upon millions of Arabs and other Muslims worldwide were engulfed by white-hot rage. Norwegian and Danish flags were burned in great numbers. Embassies and consulates were torched. Aid workers were chased out of Palestine on gunpoint. Scandinavians had to evacuate Syria and Indonesia. Vast consumer boycotts were launched, supermarkets were cleared of Scandinavian wares. Trade sanctions were imposed on Denmark and ambassadors recalled to great popular acclaim.

Why? On account of DRAWINGS. DOODLES. CARTOONS that offended some but harmed none, and that almost noone in Scandinavia, including the governments, had anything to do with.

Now Israel's war machine is destroying Lebanon, bombing indiscriminately, killing children, forcing thousands to flee, ruining infrastructure. Simultaneously Israel is assaulting Gaza, seeking to create humanitarian disaster and civil war in the world's most densely populated area.

So is the Arab street on fire? Are millions of Muslims turning out from Morocco to Malaysia in solidarity with Lebanon and Gaza? Are supermarkets even being cleared of Israeli goods? Are people even giving a d**n?

It's getting very hard to respect the Arab and Muslim public opinion. In fact, it's getting hard to respect the Arab and Muslim societies at all.

ALL muslims can relate to desecration and/or insult of their Religion.

OTOH, the sunni arab nations are scared spitless by the Shia ascendancy and Iranian meddling in arab affairs. Clearly, Iran and syria are heavily involved in the Iraqi insurgency and the vicious sectarian violence. They are also providing massive support to Hizbollah (economic and military).

The arab nations are appalled by what is going in in Lebanon, but their muted diplomatic responses indicate that they will hold their noses while Israel does the dirty work.  Destroying the Hizbollah militia's militariy capacities and returning sovereignty of all of Lebanon to its duly elected government is something the ENTIRE world wants with the exception of Syria and Iran.
